Takeo province has a total population of 790,168 (census 1998) to supply labor and human resources to serve as a work force.
Takeo province has three main areas of potential:
- Agriculture;
- Tourism;
- Commercial industry.
Within those, we have the following infrastructure:
- Farming land of 174,954 [hectares] in the wet season and 71,128 hectares in the dry season; the land is all fertile and suitable for investment in agriculture, with broad expanses of land suitable for industry.
- Many natural resorts and ancient temples:

- Kirivong district: Pha-ork Waterfall, Au-toung Waterfall, Chita Pich Mountain, Phnom Bayong Kor temple, and a total of seven temples built in the 7th century;
- Daun Keo city: Chup Pul temple;
- Angkor Borei district: Phnom Da temple (6th century), hermit temple [Asrom Moha Eisey] (7 th century);
- Samraong district: Chiso temple, Neang Khmao temple;
- Bati district: Taprum temple, Thma Dos temple, natural tourism sites and the zoo at Tamao Mountain.
These are the potentials for investment in the tourism sector.International border crossing with Vietnam where goods can be easily exchanged;
- Waterways, which serve as traveling routes and routes by which goods are transported to the sea;
- Two national roads _ National Road Nos. 2 and 3, and a railroad that can be a route for travelling and for transporting goods to Phnom Penh, the International Port of Sihanoukville and to Vietnam;
- A sufficient clean water supply and electricity for utilities and power to [supply] plants, enterprises.
